The Alliance of Artists Communities is the service organization for the field of artists’ communities. We provide networking opportunities; conferences and regional meetings; conduct and publish research relevant to the field; provide professional development through consultations, workshops, and training seminars; provide information on artists’ communities; advocate on behalf of the field of artists’ communities and creative environments in general.

Association of Performing Arts Presenters a membership organization, dedicated to bringing performing artists and audiences together in every place and way imaginable. Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading arts information clearinghouse, with a 40-year record of objective arts industry research. As the preeminent arts advocacy organization, it is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts.

Artist Help Network The Artist Help Network is a free information service designed to help artists take control of their careers. The network assists artists in locating information, resources, guidance, and advice on a comprehensive range of career-related topics. The network focuses primarily on subjects of interest to fine artists. People working in the applied arts, arts administration, and arts-related fields will also find this site useful.

Arts Journal is a weekday digest of some of the best arts and cultural journalism in the English-speaking world. Each day Arts Journal combs through more than 200 English-language newspapers, magazines, and publications featuring writing about arts and culture.

The Arts Education Partnership (formerly the Goals 2000 Arts Education Partnership) is a national coalition of arts, education, business, philanthropic and government organizations that demonstrates and promotes the essential role of the arts in the learning and development of every child and in the improvement of America's schools. The Partnership includes over 140 organizations that are national in scope and impact. Fair.Org -- How to Communicate with Journalists

There are 101 excuses for not writing or calling the media when you see unfair, biased or inaccurate news coverage: "I don't know enough"; "I'm too busy"; "My computer crashed." Communicating with journalists makes a difference. It does not have to be perfect; not all letters to journalists need to be for publication. Even a one-sentence, handwritten note to a reporter can be helpful. If you take the time to type a substantive letter, send copies of it to two or three places within the media outlet-perhaps to the reporter, his or her editor, as well as to the letters-to-the-editor department.

Form 1023 Help -- This website, based on a free class taught in Seattle, Washington, since 1995, is designed to help new non-profit organizations complete IRS Form 1023, the Application for Exempt Status Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Kentucky Open Records & Open Meetings Laws
The Attorney General issues legally binding decisions in disputes under the open records and open meetings laws. Proceedings before the Attorney General are governed by our administrative regulation.

To assist citizens in understanding the open records and open meetings laws, the Attorney General has prepared a booklet, "Protecting Your Right to Know," (120kb PDF) that describes the rules and procedures that apply to citizen action under those laws. The booklet contains a sample open records request, sample open records appeal, sample open meetings complaint, and sample open meetings appeal.

To assist public officials in understanding their duties under the open records and open meetings laws, the Attorney General has prepared a booklet, "Your Duty Under The Law." (215kb PDF)

Network for Good is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the Web to help people get more involved in their communities - from volunteering and donating money, to speaking out on issues you care about.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) -- NYFA Source is the most extensive national directory of awards, services, and publications for artists. Listings include over 4,200 arts organizations, 2,900 award programs, 4,200 service programs, and 900 publications for individual artists across the country. More programs are added every day.

Nonprofitcenters.org -- The website contains comprehensive information and tools for managing multi-tenant facilities and explores the policy and business decisions necessary to meet real estate needs of nonprofits. It also showcases examples of how specific projects are serving the needs of their local communities.

The Nonprofit Quarterly is a unique print magazine that leaders count on to provide them with values based management information and proven practices. Each issue focuses on a theme of critical importance and provides you with the cutting edge, relevant and useful information you need to manage more effectively and advance your mission.

Philanthropy News Digest (PND), a weekly news service of the Foundation Center, is a compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features culled from print and electronic media outlets nationwide.

PND RFP Bulletin -- The RFP (Request for Proposals) Bulletin is published every Friday afternoon. Each RFP listing provides a brief overview of a current funding opportunity offered by a foundation or other grantmaking organization. Interested applicants should read the full RFP at the grantmaker's Web site or contact the grantmaker directly for complete program guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting a proposal to that grantmaker.

VSA arts is an International organization that creates learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities. The organization offers arts-based programs in creative writing, dance, drama, music and the visual arts implemented primarily through our vast affiliate network in 39 states and the District of Columbia, collaborators in 10 states, and 70 international affiliates in 67 countries. VSA arts' programs now serve 4.3 million Americans and 1.3 million people in other parts of the world.

VSA arts of Kentucky is a statewide non-profit organization that promotes arts, education and creative expression for all, with an emphasis on persons with disabilities, thereby strengthening the human spirit.

Vote Smart -- Find out how your congressional representative and senators are doing their jobs. In the most comprehensive report ever released on elected officials, every member of Congress has received grades from nearly 100 liberal-to-conservative special interest organizations. The evaluations, compiled by Project Vote Smart student interns, list how each member of Congress voted on a wide range of issues during the past year or two.
