Advocacy Resources
Stay current on important issues
You can write to your elected representatives on specific arts topics that are important right now by using CapWiz, the powerful web tool customized by Arts Kentucky to help YOU make your voice heard.
Find your legislators at any time
Even when legislators are not in session, you can use CapWiz to find and contact your House and Senate legislators, along with other policymakers. Above "Action Alert," you can enter your zip code (click here to get your Zip+4). It will then take you to a list of the people you may want or need to contact.
Creative Industries Reports
While you're talking to them, you may want to tell them about the impact that the arts has on the economy of their district, or on the state as a whole. Arts Kentucky has worked with Americans for the Arts to compile a great report on the Creative Industries, broken down by district. See below for more information.
We either have to do what seems impossible --
(convince elected officials and the media of
the value of arts and culture to our quality of life)
or face the unthinkable (No arts education for our children. No public art.
No financial support for arts and cultural organizations
from cities, counties, state or federal sources.).
